Women in Extractives Network NZ (WENNZ)

WENNZ is a Straterra initiative aiming to increase the number of women in the minerals industry, enhance their visibility, and to enable networking opportunities and support in the sector. It also seeks to promote diversity and inclusion by creating pathways and to assist in increasing the network of wahine toa at all levels, across New Zealand’s mining, quarrying and drilling. Membership is open to all (including non-AusIMM members), regardless of gender. If you, or someone you know is keen to take part or you have any ideas, register your interest at event@straterra.co.nz and please include your region.

AusIMM New Professionals Network

The AusIMM New Professionals Network is a networking group for minerals industry professionals from final year students through to those with six years’ experience. Further information is available on the main AusIMM website. There is also a New Professionals Facebook page here.

The AusIMM New Professionals Network aims to provide members with:

  • Professional development of soft skills, particularly focused on communication

  • Technical support, advice and guidance for those who may be shy or looking for external support

  • Advice on the relevance of external conferences and courses for professional development

  • Encouragement and advice on attending technical talks and meeting senior members within AusIMM

  • Networking opportunities specifically for graduates in the same area
