Distinguished Lecture: Mining Professionals - The Missing ESG Link

Ivy Chen is a geologist and mining professional based in Perth, Western Australia.

She is the Manager Corporate at consulting company CSA Global, a of Director listed Horizon Power, former director of Battery Minerals, a current Board Member of the AusIMM, as well as of Multicultural Futures & Football West .

Her areas of expertise are the management of risk and governance in the minerals sector, from an operational perspective and in the ESG (environmental, social and governance) perspective. She provides guidance in the review of risk disclosure in public statements by listed and unlisted mineral and energy companies, and reviewing transactional documents for new company floats, mergers, takeovers and schemes of arrangements. Ivy was ASIC's* national adviser on Minerals and Energy for the past 6 years. This work is primarily with small to mid-cap companies in the mining industry, in open pit and underground mines in Western Australia and China; and consulting to mining and resource entities as a geologist, reviewing a wide range of projects in Australia and overseas, and in a variety of commodities. Ivy was named in the biennial 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in November 2020, and a finalist in the Outstanding Woman in Resources category, by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy Western Australian in March 2020.
