The Professional Engineers Act applies to any person providing a professional engineering service in or for Queensland - regardless if the service is being provided direct to the public. Any person proving a professional engineering service must be registered.

The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland administers the Act and is responsible for registering engineers and investigating offences against the Act and the conduct of registered engineers.

Amendments to the Act, commencing 1 March 2021, give BPEQ greater investigative powers, including:

  • the ability to conduct compliance audits
  • providing for greater investigatory powers, including the power to enter places, to search places that have been entered and seize evidence, and to require the production of a broader range of potential evidence

This webinar will help registered and unregistered engineering understand the Act, the amendments and the investigation process.
