History of APCOM
Established in 1961, APCOM was founded by four American universities: University of Stanford University, the University of Arizona, the Pennsylvania State University and the Colorado School of Mines.
The first APCOM conference, held in 1964, brought together experts from business and operations in the minerals industry to discuss the future of technology.
The key to APCOM’s long-lasting history has been bringing together academia and industry. Teaching the future of industry from today’s leading experts.
Now, this well-established event is held bi-annually at changing locations around the world. It showcases the latest technology, discusses the critical issues facing minerals and mining, and fosters future prosperity.
In 2025, APCOM returns to Australia for the third time, in Perth on Australia’s west coast.
Delegates from across Australia and the world will join and focus on the conference themes:
• Exploration and geology
• Mine planning and operations
• Advanced technologies
• Sustainable practices
• Invest
• Investment and risk management
So far six fantastic keynote speakers have been confirmed to share their thoughts on the digitization of the mining supply chain and how to use technology best.
