The AusIMM Tasmania Branch and Education Endowment Fund (EEF) invite you to attend a technical talk and Meet & Greet with a group of National Award Winning students.

About this event

The AusIMM Education Endowment Fund hosts a trip for a group of National Award Winning students who are competitively selected to receive a scholarship which comprises a significant cash component, formal professional mentoring and an annual field trip.

Further to a very successful field trip in 2023, the scholarship group is returning to the West Coast of Tasmania.  The group (comprising 13 students from across Australia) is being hosted by Dale Sims and John Carswell, both of whom may be known to you.

Student Guest speakers:

Dana IMBROGNO – PhD (University of Adelaide) – ‘Sedimentary geochemistry, geochronology and mineral systems of sub basins within the Batten Fault Zone, NT’

Lauren HARDING – Master in Professional Engineering (Mining) (UWA) – ‘Understanding the impacts of battery electric trucks on the underground environment’

Frank BURT – Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)(Mining) (Curtin) – ‘Self-drilling ground support a long-term review: A comparative study’

Refreshments will be supplied during pre/post-event with the chance to meet with students and the field trip hosts.
