Dr Geraldine McGuire -

Dr Geraldine McGuire is a professional of high standing and has provided dedicated service to the resources sector for more than 30 years. Geraldine reflects the professional leadership required across the social and environmental disciplines that are integral to the development of mineral resources.

Geraldine is an AusIMM Fellow, the AusIMM Far North Queensland Branch Chair and received the Inaugural Award from the AusIMM Environment & Social Society in 2024. Raised in Cairns, Geraldine will share her journey in the resources sector and provide advice on how to navigate the difficult balance of sustained leadership, demonstrating empathy and setting new standards in this challenging industry.

In her working experience, Geraldine has worked on projects throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific across the environmental and social performance professional areas. She has led complex multi-stakeholder engagement programs, social and environmental impact assessments and management programs, as well as compliance and auditing of these systems and processes.

Geraldine is currently Chair of the AusIMM Far North Queensland Branch, where she has worked with the Committee to revitalise Branch activities. She has also shared her own expertise and supported the development of professionals in the sector through being a course facilitator for AuslMM's ESG & Social Responsibility Professional Certificate.

Geraldine has passionately worked towards empowering Indigenous people and is committed to poverty alleviation in rural communities through effective and impactful development and sound management practices. Geraldine was a standout recipient for this Award in a strong field of submissions.

Megan Davis

Practice Lead - EPM and General Manager, RPS Group
Megan has over twenty years’ experience in environmental regulation and management both in the public and private sector, specialising in environmental impact assessment, compliance and auditing.
Megan has project managed a number of mining and extractive industry sites across Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales, including Gulf Minerals kaolin mine, Hanson’s Edmonton Quarry Expansion, Boral’s Reedy Creek Quarry, BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam Mine Expansion, various exploration mine, and provides expert opinion on mining appeals.
As the project manager, Megan successfully navigated clients through local, state and federal planning and environmental legislation based on her qualifications and experience in both fields. She also regularly audits, oversees groundwater, dust, vibration and water quality monitoring programs and negotiates with DES and other regulators on behalf of the client.
