Webinar: Exploration methods for porphyry Cu-Au deposits: Geoscientific data integration and ore-forming processes
Join the Geoscience Society for their February webinar: Exploration methods for porphyry Cu-Au deposits: Geoscientific data integration and ore-forming processes.
About this event
This webinar will focus on some of the exploration tools that the presenter, Steve Garwin, has found useful in exploration for global porphyry Cu-(Au) deposits on the regional-, district-, and deposit-scales. Case study / examples include Batu Hijau (Indonesia), Alpala-Cascabel (Ecuador), Cortadera (Chile) and the TMT project (Argentina).
The presentation will include descriptions of the geometry, geology, hydrothermal alteration / mineralisation and metal zoning that are diagnostic of productive porphyry systems. There will also be a brief introduction to ore-forming processes and controls to mineralisation in porphyry systems.
