Join the Illawarra Branch for their Combined site visit to Woodlawn Mine and Christmas Lunch at Lake George Winery.

About this event

The AusIMM Illawarra Branch invites you to join us on a visit to the Woodlawn Mine site at Tarago, NSW (near Goulburn). The site visit will include two groups: one to go underground and the second for a surface tour of the mine site and plant.

The mine site visit will be followed by our annual Christmas Function, which will be held at the Lake George Winery.

Woodlawn is a high-grade zinc-copper-lead-gold-silver project located in the world-class Lachlan Fold belt in NSW, 250km south-west of Sydney and 40km south of Goulburn.

Since acquiring the Woodlawn Mine site, Develop has carried out approximately 40,000m of underground diamond drilling to improve resource and reserve estimations. Operational teams have also completed extensive underground development, extending primary ventilation and escapeway systems, metallurgical testing and process optimisation. These have further de-risked the project and contributed to providing a strong business case for the re-opening of the mine. A final investment decision is expected in the near-future.

The Lake George Winery is a family-owned and operated establishment nestled along the captivating shores of the enigmatic Lake George in the Canberra region wine district. The cool climate and the passion from the family-run business have created a range of prestigious and award-winning wines.

The bus will pick up and return attendees at the Stuart Park car parking area at North Wollongong (on Cliff Road, opposite the North Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club).
