Join the Metallurgical Society for their webinar: Flotation circuits and new technologies: Does one size really fit all?

About this event

Froth flotation is a combination of chemistry and hydrodynamics. Historically, mechanical flotation cells were the first device introduced to float mineral particles and, despite an advanced design and larger size, are the most common piece of equipment in flotation plants even today.

Over the last years, several alternative flotation devices have been introduced, which offer advantages and disadvantages. But what should the designing approach be to maximise flotation recovery and grade while ensuring easy and reliable operation?

In this webinar evidence, plant experience, and personal thoughts will be provided.

Webinar time: 5.00pm - 6.00pm AEDT.

Speaker/s

Dr Max Zanin

Associate Professor
Max Zanin is Associate Research Professor in Mineral Processing. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Mineral Processing Engineering (University of Trieste) and a PhD in Geo-engineering (University of Cagliari).

Since joining the University of South Australia in 2003, Max developed his academic career in strict contact with the mining industry, through applied research projects and technology transfer initiatives. He holds a solid network of contacts within the industry (e.g., BHP Billiton, Vale, Rio Tinto, OZ Minerals, Anglo Platinum, Xstrata/Glencore, Freeport McMoran, Newcrest, Newmont, Outotec), industry bodies (e.g., AMIRA International) and other research institutions worldwide (e.g., CSIRO, University of British Columbia, UCL Australia, University of Adelaide, University of Queensland).
