Join the North West Queensland Branch to celebrate International Women's Day 2025 and drive positive change together. 

About this event

The AusIMM North West QLD branch are pleased announce their inaugural International Women’s Day event.  

Focusing on the theme of challenges women encounter working in the mining industry, guests will hear from a panel of exceptional women working in the mining industry. Our panel, facilitated by Loren Ager, will share their stories and insights from their careers.

Katrina Crook

Integration and Governance Lead, Glencore & AusIMM Board Director
Katrina is a mining engineer with extensive site-based, international and FIFO experience across several commodities. Katrina holds a BEng (Mining)(Hons) from UNSW, is a CP Mining, and a Graduate of the AICD. Katrina is a current AusIMM Director and has served on Board Committees including the Policy & Advocacy, Audit & Risk, and this year joining the Council for Diversity & Inclusion.

Katrina has been an active AusIMM member for over 20 years contributing through several committees including the UG Ops Organising Committee, the Mining Society, and the Southern Queensland Branch, including Chair. She is a sponsor of the AusIMM mentoring program which creates opportunities for building career pathways and nurtures the next generation of resources professionals.

Katrina has been an asset to the AusIMM Board as she advocates for strengthening continuous professional development, through enabling access to learning resources to develop the skillsets required for industry professionals of the future.

Erin Savage

Integrated Planning Manager, Ernest Henry Operations, Evolution Mining Australia
Erin is a Geotechnical Engineer by trade, currently working as the Integrated planning manager at Ernest Henry, following an enlightening year working as the Open Pit Mine Manager at Mt Rawdon Operations working through the closure of the mine. Her background is primarily in underground and predominantly block and sub level caving mines. She has experience in many different aspects of mining, from the study phase of open pit Iron Ore mines, through to mine design and operational environments, re-starting the Oyu Tolgoi Block Caving project in Mongolia and most recently coming full circle with the closure phase of mining. Erin has led Mobile Maintenance, Operations and Technical teams in Australia and overseas and has a passion for mentoring and development of her teams.

Jo-Anne Dudley

Non Executive Director, Ora Banda Mining
Jo-Anne Dudley is a mining engineer with C-suite experience, having finished her journey as COO of the TSX and NYSE listed Turquoise Hill Resources at the end of 2022. Jo has subsequently started her own company and is assisting mining companies to navigate pathways to value for projects – bridging the yawning chasm between technical specialists and mining executives!
Jo-Anne is also a non-executive director for Perth-based gold miner Ora Banda Mining Pty Ltd.
Jo is a Fellow member of the AusIMM and was selected as the 2018 Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources, and was also honoured to be named as one of the 2018 Global 100 Inspirational Women in Mining. In 2019 Jo-Anne was sponsored by Chief Executive women to attend the Wharton Business School Executive Leadership programme.
