About this event

Why have critical minerals become such an important topic?  What are the demands for critical minerals? What has been done to address these?  What are the challenges?  Recent projects process technologies developments for:

  • Rare metals processing
  • Battery active materials
  • Electrolysis technology
  • PGE processing
  • E-waste recycling

In this presentation, Tony Tang FAusIMM(CP) will explore the actions needed to further progress these developments toward commercialisation.  Join us to gain valuable insights into the future of critical minerals and the innovations shaping a more sustainable and resilient global economy.

Professor at Curtin University
As a professor of practice at Curtin University, Tony shares his extensive engineering and management experience in critical minerals with students and researchers. Tony is a fellow and chartered professional member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy FAusIMM(CP), and a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Tony is passionate about developing innovative and sustainable solutions with vertical integration processing for critical materials from minerals by facilitating industry-academia collaboration and knowledge transfer.

Tony serves as the chairman of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) Perth Branch, where Tony advocates for the professional development and recognition of the minerals sector in Australia.
