Join the Social and Environment Society for their webinar: How to quantify the environmental impacts of critical minerals using life cycle assessments.

About this event

Life cycle assessments are becoming mandatory for international battery regulations, which will impact Australia’s upstream raw material supply chains. Additionally, life cycle assessments provide quantitative verified environmental impacts that can be utilised in multiple ESG reporting standards, as well as incorporated into sustainability reports and investor decks to enable companies to differentiate themselves from competitors.

In this webinar, we will discuss:

  • Introduction to life cycle assessments and how to conduct them for mining and metal projects.
  • How life cycle assessments are being implemented in international regulations such as the EU battery passport and how this impacts upstream raw material supply chains.
  • The value of using life cycle assessments to steer environmentally informed decision-making and decarbonisation strategies.
  • Examples of how mining companies and downstream battery technology are utilising life cycle assessments.

Our speaker, Phoebe Whattoff, is an ISO-compliant life cycle assessment expert, who has worked with mining companies such as Pilbara Minerals, Rio Tinto, Renascor Resources as well as downstream OEMs including Tesla.

Webinar time: 4.00pm - 5.00pm AEST.
