Join the South West WA Branch and the Mining Society for their June tech talk: Lithium-Caesium-Tantalum (LCT) pegmatites unpacked with Albert Thamm.

About this event

With a solid foundation in lithium deposit minerals exploration across Australia and Canada, Albert Thamm will share with us some of his experiences on resource delineation and study input, that has been pivotal in driving project success and stakeholder engagement. Albert will also elaborate on Exploration Result & Mineral Resource reporting and regulatory compliance.

The presentation will cover aspects of exploration, development, the obvious risks and operational pitfalls.

There will also be short history provided on and future development of LCT Pegmatites.

Albert Thamm

Albert is currently a Technical Advisor to ASX-listed explorer Yari Minerals.

Prior to this he held senior roles during the Galaxy/Allkem and Arcadium takeovers that ended with the buyout of Arcadium by Rio Tinto. In this time his focus was exploration and project development in both Western Australia and Canada.

In particular, Albert’s focus has been mainly on the Mt Cattlin (from 2016) and James Bay (now called Galaxy, from 2018) Projects. Prior to this he had been a company director to various ASX-listed companies and had consulted both privately and as part of consultants Coffey Mining.

Albert holds a Masters in Geology from the University of Cape Town. His career has straddled projects from exploration to development, restart and evaluation. He is currently the Chair of the AusIMM Mining Society.
