Tasmanian critical metals workshop - CODES UTAS Regional Research Collaboration update
Join the Tasmania Branch in Tullah for their Tasmanian critical metals workshop - CODES UTAS Regional Research Collaboration update.
About this event
The UTAS critical metals workshop this year features two guest speakers: Ross Large, speaking on the setting of critical and strategic metal mineralisation and David Giles, joining us from the University of South Australia to speak about the intersection of geology and education in the MinEx CRC.
Members of the CODES team will also present research updates on the Critical Metals Regional Research Collaboration (RRC) at this workshop. The RRC is a $3.5M program funded by the Australian government focused on the environmentally sustainable production of critical metals in Tasmania. There will be a chance for discussion following the talks. Talk themes include economic geology, geometallurgy, geoenvironment education and outreach on different sites in the west and northwest of Tasmania.
This program of work has great relevance for the geoscience community in Tasmania and beyond. Critical Metals are key commodities and Tasmania has great potential for developing these resources. Our CODES speakers are all working across Tasmanian sites (PhD students on specific sites and researchers across multiple sites).
