Society demands greater sustainability and transparency in mining practices, particularly in critical mineral production for green energy solutions. However best practice often comes at a significant financial cost, and ‘greener’ operations struggle to compete with their less sustainable counterparts on the open market (as seen in the recent nickel market slump).

Many in the industry advocate for formal adoption of green premiums to recognize the higher cost of doing business while meeting strict ESG metrics. In this panel, we invite global market experts to discuss the pros and cons of green premiums, and how such a divergent market would work in practice.
