Welcome to the 6th International Future Mining Conference being held in Sydney from 2—4 September 2024.
We are very excited to put together a fantastic program which will pioneer the next era of mining. Conference themes will be centred around innovations, mining in extreme environments and unconventional deposits, sustainable mining, energy innovations and future skills and workforce evaluation. With the future of mining at the interface of technology advancements and environmental responsibility.
Mining production is vital for global socio-economic development and is linked to almost every industry value chain. However, the current climate of sustained global minerals demand, coupled with deeper orebodies and lower ore grades, extreme environmental conditions, and a range of social and environmental challenges, presents a series of challenges for the future. To eliminate and overcome these challenges, we aim to create a discussion platform to enable the minerals industry to transform scientific knowledge and advanced technologies from other disciplines and industries into mining systems to retain cost-competitive, safe and environmentally responsible operations.
The Future Mining Conference Series is an important event in the mining calendar, so we encourage you to save the date, present a paper, participate in the conference and hear from world technology leaders and thought-leaders.
Communication between different stakeholders in the industry is key to ensuring that innovation is appropriately adapted and focused to meet the long-term needs of the industry. Thus, the Conference will bring together mining executives, experts from operations, research institutions, technology and service companies, government representatives, and stakeholders who have key roles in developing strategic and technologically sound scenarios.
I hope you can join me at the International Future Mining Conference in Sydney, September 2024.
