400 new mines are needed globally to supply the necessary critical minerals required to meet the worlds 2050 decarbonisation targets. And as an industry we are being challenged to design these mines differently with communities pressures to reduce the size of our footprint; pressures to ensure safer and more efficient operating environments; and pressures to make financial returns while meeting ESG commitments.

Without rethinking our traditional mining value chain, we are at risk of delivering only incremental change - at a very slow pace.

The development of a lunar economy is under similar pressures, driven by time and ensuring we can operate there in a sustainable manner.
