There are just over two weeks left until our International Women's Day Event Series in Perth. We are so excited to join together as an industry and celebrate equity in mining and acknowledge the incredible accomplishments of women.

Perth's Keynote speaker, Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert shared a message in the lead up to her highly anticipated address.

My name is Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert. I am an academic and author of the 2022 memoir The Uncaged Sky, about the 804 days I spent imprisoned in Iran as an innocent woman from 2018-2020. I am proud to be speaking at AusIMM’s International Women's Day Series in Perth.

I will be speaking about the importance of human connection and female friendship in fostering the strength to overcome adversity.

To me, diversity and inclusion is valuing each and every person on the basis of their individual skills, traits and accomplishments, irrespective of their racial, gender, religious or cultural background. Doing so is vitally important to developing a just and equitable society which we can all be proud of.
