The Last 10 Years: Mill Operators Photo Gallery Highlights

The anticipation is building for AusIMM's 16th iteration of the Mill Operators Conference, set to take place in Perth from October 21-23, 2024.

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate 46 years of the Conference series. As we eagerly await the upcoming event, it's the perfect time to unlock a time capsule and look back at the magic of the past decade of conferences. 

Let's relive some of the most memorable moments and highlights from the last ten years, captured in our event galleries below. These snapshots offer a nostalgic glimpse into the evolution of the Mill Operators Conference and the vibrant community that has grown around it.

The 12th Mill Operators Conference

The 12th Mill Operators Conference in 2014 was held in Townsville; home to three metals refineries (zinc, copper and nickel) and a hub for drive-in, drive-out and fly-in fly-out to numerous mines throughout north and north-west Queensland. 

The theme of the 2014 conference was Doing More with Less'. Over three days, more than 50 papers were presented covering continuous improvement, energy reduction, flotation, future trends, grinding, methodologies, process control, process management, specific improvements and technology applications.

The 13th Mill Operators Conference

The 13th Mill Operators Conference in 2016 came to Perth for the first time, with over 40 technical oral presentations, and keynotes by Peter Munro, Rob Coleman and R. Dunne. 

The theme of the 2016 conference was Doing Measure, Manage, Improve.

The 14th Mill Operators Conference

The 14th Mill Operators Conference in 2018 marked 40 years of the highly successful conference Series. Held in Brisbane for the first time, its themes explored: automation and control; comminution; downstream processing; emerging technologies; flotation; operation updates; preconcentration; and unit processes in comminution.

As always, the not-to-be-missed official Conference Dinner, brought delegates and speakers together for an unforgetable event, complete with fun and interactive entertainment!

The 15th Mill Operators Conference

The 15th Mill Operators Conference returned to Brisbane in 2021 in a new online hybrid format, delivered to over 600 professionals around the world. 

We were joined by keynote speakers Greg Lane, Teresa McGrath, and James McQuie.
