Sanchita Anand AAusIMM


Sanchita holds a double degree in Chemical Engineering (Honours) and Science (Biotechnology) from the University of Adelaide, along with international experience from the University of Guelph in Canada.

With a passion for sustainability and innovation, she is driven to engineer solutions that make a positive impact in industry.

Her career experience spans across diverse industries, from renewables research and glass manufacturing to technology consulting and mining with major companies like OI Glass, Accenture ANZ and BHP. She began her journey in the mining industry at Olympic Dam in Copper SA with BHP, where she has worked across the concentrator, copper, gold and silver refining processes as a Production Support Metallurgist.

Her previous role as a Commissioning Metallurgist, saw her contribute to the successful delivery of a Greenfields Hydrometallurgical Ion Exchange Plant. Currently, as a Development Metallurgist, Sanchita is focused on developing and executing operational and CAPEX projects aimed at boosting revenue, improving process stability and enhancing cost efficiency across unit operations.

Since its inception in 1978, the Mill Operators Conference has grown from a regional event in Mount Isa to a global gathering, now in its 16th iteration.

Celebrating 46 years, it has become a key platform for advancing the minerals processing industry, attracting over 600 professionals from around the world, including metallurgists, geometallurgists, engineers, executives, and industry leaders, to share knowledge, innovations, and best practices.
