Keynote presentation: Underground Coal – Balancing Production, Technical Risks and Financial Returns
Hope Mulvihill is an experienced mining professional and is currently the Manager of Strategic Planning & Business Analysis within Glencore Coal Asset Australia’s (GCAA) Business Development team. After completing a dual degree in Mining Engineering and Commerce, Hope commenced a career in the resources sector and her experiences to date include underground crew experience, site based operational management, technical services positions, project management and strategic planning and investment analysis.
Hope has completed several post graduate studies including a Graduate Diploma of Mine Ventilation and a Master of Applied Finance. Hope currently leads and supports a team of professionals in the Glencore Business Development team with the responsibility of assessing long term asset valuations, providing strategic support to sites and analysis of the GCAA project pipeline for business growth. Whilst her career started from a largely operational underground coal background, Hope’s role encompasses supporting the 13 open cut and 4 underground operations in the GCAA portfolio. In her career to date, she has been supported to work internationally including in Brazil and Singapore and has experience working across a range of commodities and corporate functions providing her with a broad exposure to the resources sector.
