Fun with Patterns and Perspectives: The Future of Orebody Knowledge
Geoscience data from innovative sensing and scanning technologies reveal spatial patterns that improve our understanding of mineral systems and support integrated mining operations. This talk will show examples of how spatial patterns in old and new data can improve orebody knowledge and deliver better inputs for the downstream customers of the orebody, in mine planning, operations and processing.
Paul has worked as a geoscientist in the mining industry for 35 years across a range of commodities and mineral systems, in exploration, resource development, mining operations, technology development, research, consulting and senior management, with Anglo American, BHP, SRK Consulting, Newmont and Freeport McMoRan. He completed BSc and MSc degrees in geology and structural geology in the US and a PhD in economic geology at the University of Western Australia.
