#IMG2024 Young Professionals Day

Are you a new professional (1 – 5 years in the mining and resources industry) looking to build a career in mining geology?

Our #IMG2024 Young Professionals Day is set to take place on Thursday 9 May, immediately following the #IMG2024 conference.

Across 4 sessions, this event will offer career advice, mentoring, real-world skills and an opportunity to meet industry leaders face-to-face.

8:00am - 8:30am	Arrival networking
8:30am - 10:30am	Session 1 \| Mining Geology A look into the mining geology field with emphasis on key geological skills required and alternative pathways in geology.
10:30am - 11:00am	Morning Tea
11:00am- 12:30pm	Session 2 \| Geology's role in mining Zooming out to view the mining industry as a whole and recognise how geology connects with other industry professionals. Including commentary on the processes and goals recommended for a successful graduate program. Essential skills for graduates that you don’t learn at university.
12:30pm - 1:30pm	Lunch
1:30pm - 2:50pm	Session 3 \| Professional development A general discussion on how to develop your personal brand along with networking, mentorship and extra curricular professional development.
2:50pm - 3:30pm	Networking Afternoon Tea
3:20pm - 4:10pm	Session 4 \| Lifestyle An important dialogue on mental health within the mining industry and how this can affect performance in the workplace. Networking with other professionals and flexing your career.
4:30pm - 5:30pm	Networking Event
