Sharif Jahanshahi 

Director, Meta-Logical Solutions

Sharif (PhD, DIC, FIMMM) is a pyrometallurgist with over 40 years of experience in R&D and slag chemistry.

His research interests cover molten slags' physicochemical properties, bath smelting process chemistry, minor elements' management, life cycle assessment and low-emission steelmaking.

Sharif has led several significant national and international collaborative R&D programs involving partners from industry, academia and Australia's national science agency CSIRO. Among these were the AMIRA's Slags, Refractory & Processes project and the Australian steel industry CO2 breakthrough program at CSIRO, which contributed to the WorldSteel CO2 Breakthrough Program.

Since retiring from CSIRO, he has been directing Meta-Logical Solutions Pty Ltd and assisting the industry.
