Tips to Submitting a Successful Abstract
The Organising Conference Committee are excited to receive abstracts that will contribute in shaping MOLTEN 2024.
Leading up to the October 16th deadline, we have provided you with valuable tips to optimise your abstract submission and increase your chances to present your research and ideas at this significant conference.
Who should submit an abstract?
Industry researchers, university academics and technical subject matter experts can submit an abstract. Additionaly, we encourage interdisciplinary approaches or collaborations with other fields too.

What to keep in mind?
Relevance –
Most importantly, you should ensure your abstract is relevant to one of the conference themes.

Originality –
We only accept original submissions that have strong and technical components. Relevant research including but not limited to; new or emerging trends, and innovative research within the realm of molten slags, salts and fluxes are highly regarded.
Submissions published elsewhere must be significantly changed or updated. If you intend to submit non-original or previously published work, kindly inform AusIMM in writing during or prior to submission.
Significance –
Establish and clearly outline the significant contribution and impacts your research has to industry. Ensure you emphasise and highlight your key findings and any core concepts.
If selected, it is important to know selected papers for MOLTEN 2024 will be considered for publication in special editions of the following international journals: Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy, Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy, and Iron and Steel Institute of Japan International (ISIJ International).
Quality –
The quality of your abstract should be reliable and consistent, especially when using experimental data and/or results of mathematical modeling. Your abstract should be clear, concise and to-the-point.
Common pitfalls
Keep to the conference themes outlined and ensure you capture the essence of your research or idea within the word limit. We strongly suggest all authors have read and understood the Authors Guidelines.

International Authors
All authors will receive an invitation letter to expedite obtaining a Visa to enter Australia. The conference is registered with the International Event Coordinator Network (IECN) to assist with Visa applications.
