Cloncurry Region Tour (sold out)

This post-conference tour on Wednesday 29 - Friday 31 March 2023 will be a two-day visit to the Cloncurry Region of Queensland. Delegates will take an afternoon Qantas flight from Brisbane to Cloncurry on the Wednesday via coach transfer from Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Ernest Henry copper-gold operation

A large-scale, long-life asset located 38km north-east of Cloncurry, Queensland on the traditional lands of the Mitakoodi people. Ernest Henry is an underground mining operation employing sub-level caving ore extraction method. There is also an underground primary crusher and ore handling system. Ore is brought to surface via a 1,000m hoisting shaft with a hoisting capacity in excess of 6Mt ore per annum. The operation also has an effective and sophisticated above and below ground water management system.

Clothing

Full PPE - Closed safety shoes or boots, long trousers, and long-sleeved reflective shirts. Any additional safety clothing will be provided at each site visited.
