Mark McGeough

In the 1970's Mark graduated from Kingston Polytechnic (now a University) with a joint honours BSc in Geology and Geography. Initially teaching geography and geology in Central London, he travelled to Australia in 1981. In Alice Springs, Mark worked as a geologist exploring for uranium and then taught Science and Geology for four years.
Prior to 2005, Mark worked as an exploration geologist with Mt Isa Mines for 14.5 years with the highlight, the discovery and delineation of the White Dam Gold Mine and later as a Consultant Geologist for Xstrata working on the Black Star, Open Pit Feasibility Study at Mt Isa.
From 2005 to 2008, Mark was the Geological Survey Manger based in South Australia for 3.5 years, promoting mineral exploration and development in South Australia with a key role in the success of the PACE program.
After leaving the Geological Survey Mark joined Toro Energy as GM, a South Australian uranium developer and explorer with projects in WA, NT, SA and Namibia. Involved in the discovery of the greenfield, Theseus sandstone-hosted uranium deposit and assisted in the mining approvals for the Wiluna Calcrete deposit.
From 2013 to 2018, Mark was General Manager-Geology for Chinova Resources (previously Inova and Ivanhoe Australia), managing a group of geologists working on exploration and development projects south of Cloncurry, in NW QLD.
