AusIMM announces partnership with SGS Australia
AusIMM is pleased to have officially announced SGS Australia as an Industry Partner at the World Mining Congress in Brisbane last month.
AusIMM partners with leading companies who share our values and support our commitment to showcasing the work of professionals who are shaping the future of the resources sector. AusIMM and SGS will partner on a range of industry-related professional development content pieces, including thought leadership articles and webinars.
SGS is a global testing, inspection, and certification company that works across the entire mining lifecycle. This includes areas such as geochemistry and minerals as well as environmental services, training, and ESG services. SGS also provides support to other sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, construction and more.
AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said the partnership would further highlight the critical role that professional standards play in ensuring a safe, responsible and sustainable resources sector.
‘We’re looking forward to working with SGS to help share knowledge on best practice when it comes to our sector’s highly robust regulatory requirements, whether that is in the field of minerals processing, mine closure and remediation or waste management.’
Juan Smith, South East Asia Pacific Geochemistry GM at SGS, said: ‘We’re looking forward to sharing expertise with AusIMM members on the importance of testing, inspection, and certification across the entire mining lifecycle in the global resources sector.’
