As the Trusted Voice for people in resources, AusIMM works closely with all levels of government to design and implement policies that advance our sector for the benefit of the global community. As a community of professionals, we are in a unique position to provide credible, balanced and compelling advice to inform government decision-making.

AusIMM were pleased to be invited by the Federal Resources Minister Keith Pitt to make a submission to the Federal Parliament as part of an Inquiry into the Prudential Regulation of Investment in Australia’s Export Industries.

In the submission, AusIMM explain that, while Australia benefits from both political and economic stability, global investors are increasingly attuned to the importance of sustainable workforce supply, social and environmental responsibility, professional standards and community sentiment in making investment decisions. We emphasise to the Parliament that coordinated action across government, industry, academia and the professions is critical to foster a sustainable resources sector and deliver continued benefit to the community.
