World Mining Congress 2023 – showcasing Australia’s mining sector to the world

Dear members,

As we celebrate AusIMM’s 130th anniversary and reaffirm our commitment to upholding professional standards and sharing knowledge, we are delighted to be playing a strong role in the upcoming World Mining Congress (WMC) in Brisbane from 26-29 June.

Working closely with host organisation CSIRO, AusIMM was instrumental in bidding for the 26th Congress to be held in Australia for the first time in 2023. Last held in Kazakhstan in 2018, a global audience of 2000+ delegates will soon gather in Brisbane for a showcase of our world-class sector.

AusIMM, together with CSIRO and other supporters and Australia's former Ambassador to Russia Peter Tesch in Kazakhstan in 2018, launching Australia as the next host of the World Mining Congress. 

WMC will bring together the brightest minds from all disciplines to discuss best practice in the sustainable development of resources. Australia’s resources professionals are seen as the best in the world at what we do, and there will be 70+ esteemed AusIMM members presenting at WMC, leading conversations that will benefit our entire industry.

Leaders from the AusIMM Board and Management Team will be attending to represent our members and meet with industry, government, academia and other kindred associations. We will also have an exhibition stand to showcase our professional development offering and engage with members, partners, and delegates.

We look forward to connecting with our global community at this historic World Mining Congress, and hope to see you in Brisbane next month.
