Your new AusIMM President for 2025
AusIMM is pleased to announce Chris Carr FAusIMM(CP) has been elected AusIMM President for 2025. Chris will commence his appointment on 1 January 2025.
The President plays a significant leadership role as Chair of the AusIMM Board and promotes an ethical, sustainable and safe resources sector on behalf of all AusIMM members.
Chris Carr is a mining engineer with over 35 years’ experience in mining operations and management with both site-based and FIFO roles. Chris served as an AusIMM Director initially from 2007-12 and was elected to the Board for another two terms spanning 2020-2025. Since joining AusIMM in 1984, he has been an active member and passionate supporter of the organisation. Chris brings knowledge of strategy, governance, ethics, operations and regional perspectives to the Board.
The Board would like to sincerely thank President Nicole Brook FAusIMM for her ongoing dedication and contribution to AusIMM, especially during her presidential term of 2023-24.

About Chris Carr
Chris Carr is currently Head of Technical Services at IGO Ltd. He holds an MBA from APESMA/Deakin University, an MSc in Mineral economics from Curtin University, and is a Graduate of the AICD.
In addition to his terms as Board Director, Chris has served on various branch, conference and AusIMM committees and is currently the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Investment Committee.
