AusIMM and the AGC
The AusIMM is one of the 8 members of the Australian Geoscience Council (AGC), that provides collaboration amongst the geoscience community, being organisations and various specific geoscience disciplines.
The AGC represents 8 Australian geoscience organisations; the Association of Applied Geochemists (AAG), Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicist (ASEG), Australiasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (AusIMM), Geological Society of Australia (GSA), International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) Australia (IAH Australia), Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA), and the Australia & New Zealand Geomorphology Group (ANZGG)
Each member organisation conducts geoscience related activities and provides access to high-quality geoscience papers to support professional development and scientific debate. The new JORC code, and general industry trend, is for AusIMM geoscientist to be increasingly called upon to appreciate a broader awareness of a variety of disciplines to support their work. The AusIMM link to collaboration within the AGC is of great value. More information about AGC and their member organisations can be found at the AGC website.
