National Mining Games coming to Brisbane

The National Mining Games 2024 event will be held in Brisbane, QLD on the 6th-7th September 2024. The games will be hosted by University of Queensland at Mining 3, Pinjarra Hills (UQ Campus).

The competition will include women's, mixed, men’s and alumni teams of a maximum of six participants, competing in these events for prizes to be awarded at the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on the evening of the final day. Attendance is currently open for student teams (5-6 individuals). Over two full days of competition, participate in events like track and set, muck and cart, wede saw, airleg drilling, hand-steel, blast board, survey, and gold panning. Network with colleagues, then celebrate with an Awards Dinner.

To attend the National Mining Games, you must be: A member of an AusIMM Student Chapter (for student teams); OR An AusIMM member (for industry teams). An additional link for non-student participants will be released in the near future, noting this will be dependent on available spaces following student team registrations. AusIMM Student Member Teams – $1,100 inc GST (~$184 per person). Student Non-Member Teams – $1,200 inc GST (~$200 per person)

National Mining Games, principally sponsored by Sandvik! Teams confirmed by end July are from Adelaide, Ballarat, Hunter New England, Illawarra, Kalgoorlie, Melbourne, Northern QLD, Perth, Southern QLD, and Tasmania. This makes up a total of 26 teams, around 150 competitors, competing over two full days in 8 events.
