AusIMM Mining Society Distinguished Lecture – Singleton

Join the Hunter Region Branch for the Mining Society Distinguished Lecture Mining Projects: Successes and Failures – Root causes and Remedies, with Neil Cusworth.

The 2024 Mining Society travelling lecture will provide a view of why for the last decade did the international mining sector deliver so many bad projects, and importantly, how can we stop history repeating itself.

Neil Cusworth, who has had a long and distinguished career in projects and project controls, where 40% of his 50 years' experience has been on international mining projects, will be presenting his views on what drives projects to succeed or fail.

Neil is the founding Managing Director of Enthalpy’s Australian, European and South American operations, as an independent Project Management services provider, since 1988.

He has undertaken a variety of specialist advisory and Independent Peer Review assignments since 1988. Including providing ‘best practice’ systems, procedures and reviews for multinational corporations including BHP Billiton, Barrick Gold, Antofagasta Minerals, Stanwell Energy, Cliff’s, MIM and Codelco.

Neil is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy. In 2013 Neil was awarded the AusIMM Mining Industry Technique Award.
