Miners Park and Pine Creek Geotrail website launch and event recap

ยท 239 words, 2 min read

The Darwin Branch began 2024 with the launch of the websites to support the Mining Heritage and Geotourism projects at Pine Creek.

You may recall we have been working on upgrading the Miners Park and creating a Geotrail for a year or so. Well, we finally completed stage one of the combined works with upgraded signage, added three new signs and a new gazebo with all new signs at the Miners Park as well as establishing  a dedicated website. We also have created a dedicated website for the Pine Creek Geotrail and plans for a couple of added attractions to add to the Geotrail are well under way with the intention of them being in place during 2024.

You can view the website for the Miners Park here.

Hopefully you may even be tempted to visit the sites in person – once the weather improves!

Website Launch Event Recap

On the evening of Thursday, 25 January at the Darwin Innovation Hub in the Darwin City Mall, an audience of about 20 heard from Mark Asendorf as he explained briefly what we had been doing before demonstrating the websites to the meeting.

After his talk, a Q&A session was held and many guests tried the websites live for themselves before many discussions over a few drinks and snacks. The evening went well with everyone seemingly having a good time.
