'Up the Hills for Peter' 2023

As a tribute to the late Peter Hills FAusIMM(CP), his colleagues are raising money for charity by running in the 'Point to Pinnacle' event in Hobart this November. Peter was a dedicated AusIMM member who contributed significantly to AusIMM and our industry.

The team are raising money for the Black Dog Institute, which supports the wellbeing of first responders. The charity was chosen in memory of people whose lives were changed by the rockfall at Beaconsfield Gold Mine in 2006. As a senior member of the Beaconsfield team, Peter was one of the first responders after the rockfall and played a crucial role in the rescue of the two trapped miners.
