As the trusted voice of resources professionals, each year AusIMM conducts its PER Survey to understand the experiences, priorities and perspectives of people working in mining. This year, the survey seeks to understand the impact of COVID-19 on the resources sector, especially in relation to the employment market, changes in the way mining professionals live and work, and what these changes may mean for the future of the industry.
The survey will also cover other critical themes for people in resources, including social performance, and how the sector can best take advantage of continuous technological advancement.
AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said this year’s survey would be crucial to understand the effects of global disruptions affecting people in mining.
‘The findings from this year’s survey will be highly useful for decision-makers in the resources sector. By examining the impacts of COVID-19, we will identify key priority areas that industry needs to focus on to deliver future growth and opportunities for workers. The survey will also provide a snapshot of the current state of play and where the industry might head next.’
‘The information gathered from the survey will also play a key role in determining AusIMM’s priorities on advocacy, professional development offerings and communication for the next 12 months – helping us to drive outcomes relevant to our member’s needs, and those of the broader industry.’
AusIMM invites all people working in mining to complete the online survey, which takes 15 minutes and can be found here.
