AusIMM launches latest publication: Flotation Plant Optimisation: Second Edition (Spectrum 25)
AusIMM launched its latest book, Flotation Plant Optimisation: Second Edition (Spectrum 25) at the AusIMM Metallurgical Society G D Delprat Distinguished Lecture in Adelaide on 1 August.
The book was officially launched by Prof John Ralston AO FAusIMM before guests heard Prof J P Franzidis deliver his distinguished lecture ‘Mining and Society’.
Edited by Christopher J Greet FAusIMM(CP) (who also edited the first edition), and made possible by sponsor Magotteaux, Spectrum 25 is an updated version of the original Flotation Plant Optimisation volume (Spectrum 16), originally published in 2010.
In this second edition, all chapters have been revised or updated where required, in most cases by the original authors. A new chapter on the flotation of troublesome sulfide and non-sulfide minerals has been added, as well as two new appendices containing additional information.
AusIMM has a distinguished history of publishing high-quality flotation reference books, with the iconic Principles of Flotation by K L Sutherland first published in 1938. Other publications followed over the next 80 years, most recently Professor Alban Lynch’s illuminating History of Flotation (2010).
Flotation Plant Optimisation: Second Edition is available to purchase now in electronic and hard copy format at ausimm.com/product/spectrum25/.
