Women in Mining Victoria invites you to attend our cocktail party on October 16th, 2019. The event will be held at the International Chamber House, 121 Exhibition St, Melbourne from 6.00-8.00 pm.

Three key industry speakers will discuss: “How research and innovation can foster the transformation of the Mining Industry”.

This event will be attended by members of various international chambers including the US, UK, French, Germany, Africa, UAE and Indonesia, in addition to members of the Victorian Government.

 

 

Guest Speakers:


Adrien Guiraud is a Principal Research Consultant with CSIRO Mineral Resources and leads the research portfolio for copper processing. Adrien has more than 10 years of experience in the mining and metals sector specialising in industrial R&D and process improvement. His expertise lies in aluminium smelting, energy efficiency and sustainable minerals processing.

Adrien was previously employed by Rio Tinto in France and in Australia and joined the CSIRO in 2015. He has a master's degree in Materials Sciences and Engineering from the National Superior School of Electrochemistry and Electrometallurgy of Grenoble, France.


Nathalie Simenel-Amar – Following the completion of a Master in Engineering at the Institute of Material Science and Radiation, Nathalie completed a PhD degree in experimental Nuclear Physics at the University of Caen (France) in 2003. She then focused on forming a number of international collaborations in Science. Nathalie has also worked for six years in scientific research and has taught in France, USA, and Australia. Today, she works at the Embassy of France in Australia, where she engages with scientific and academic communities, decision makers, industry representatives, engineers, teachers, and society stakeholders to identify and map scientific capabilities, and to analyse the need to promote structured bilateral co-operation between France and Australia. Nathalie has been working across a number of scientific areas including climate change; energy transition; transport; biodiversity and ecosystems preservation; agriculture and food security; water management and recycling.

Adele Seymon – As Program Director – Exploration to Mine & Sustainability at AMIRA International, a global mining industry member-based organisation, Adele is responsible for working with senior management to drive business strategy so as to create an invigorated and sustainable organisation that provides solutions to their members' business challenges through collaboration.

Adele strives to extend AMIRA’s impact in non-typical business areas, in ways that are mutually beneficial for AMIRA’s members, the community and for AMIRA.

With over 20 years of diverse experience in the exploration, government and finance sectors, Adele has developed substantial networks with people in many countries, all of whom share her passion for improving exploration and mining operations, through the application of best practice R&D.
