Peak professional body of the resources sector, AusIMM, has officially opened enrolments for an Online Professional Certificate in JORC Code Reporting for mining professionals.
Developed in partnership with leading experts from AMC Consultants, CSA Global, SRK Consulting and RSC Global, the course is interactive, focuses on real-world situations, and its online delivery mode allows participation from anywhere, opening Australian standards to the world.
Consisting of six modules over eight weeks, the course will be delivered on Cahoot, a highly dynamic educational platform that brings together the best practices of formal education and live delivery. The cloud-based environment will provide a wide range of course elements such as live discussions, group networking forums, interactive learning tasks and personal guidance from expert facilitators.
AusIMM CEO, Stephen Durkin noted how important it has been for AusIMM to work with the right business partners.
“Cahoot is a world-regarded platform used by the likes of MIT and Stanford Universities. It is very much centered around interactive and live learning and enables those accessing the training to engage with both facilitators and peers in the learning process.”
“We are confident that participants will gain something, no matter what stage they’re at in their professional journey.”
Steve Hunt, Chair of JORC stated that on top of the flexible and interactive format of the course, one of the main features was the content development and curation process, which has involved industry experts and input from AusIMM’s diverse professional communities of interest.
“One of the great things about this course is the way AusIMM has brought together a range of different and prominent industry experts to help in the development and delivery of content.”
“It has also reached out to its professional societies to ensure that the various case studies and learning activities really do reflect the full breadth and width of the industry”
The Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (‘the JORC Code’) is a professional code of practice that sets minimum standards for public reporting of minerals exploration results, mineral resources and ore reserves. Participants of the course who wish to conduct public reporting as a Competent Person in accordance with the JORC Code are still required to meet all the criteria specified in the Code.
Enrolment for the course is now open for an October 2018 intake. Interested parties can visit the website for more information: http://jorconline.ausimm.com.
