Metallurgical Society – MetFests 2020 – Calling for Abstracts

We have 2 MetFest events planned this year and are now taking abstracts for potential presentations.

Dr Bianca Newcombe (Chair – MetSoc)

Perth – May 20 (and possibly the 19th depending on the number of abstracts received)

Brisbane – September 8th (prior to Mill Ops)

Presenting at MetFest is a fantastic opportunity to develop speaking skills, network your ideas and meet with your industry peers. There is no requirement to write a formal paper, just give a sleek presentation!

If you have a project or operation you would like to give a 15 minute presentation on, please put together an abstract of approximately 300 words detailing what your talk would be about. Abstracts will be published in a booklet given to delegates, so ensure you have permission to publish in place.

Please submit your abstract, with your contact details and which event you are applying to present at (Perth or Brisbane or both!) to metsoc@ausimm.com

Abstracts must be received by Feb 14th for the Perth event, and March 13th for the Brisbane event.

While all abstracts will be considered, preference is given to operations based presentations, being given by operational staff.

Places are allocated as abstracts are received, so please get your abstract in early to avoid disappointment.

Further details on both these events will be released over the next month via the AusIMM events portal and MetSoc community page.

In the mean time, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask via email and get those abstracts in!
