AusIMM – Standards MN-005 (Copper, Lead, Zinc and Nickel Ores and Concentrates)
Standards Australia is the Australia's peak non-government, not-for-profit standards organisation and have members from different industry organisations serving on relevant technical committees.
Standards Australia Technical Committees are the backbone of the standardisation process.
The committees produce and maintain an ongoing responsibility for the publications that they prepare.
The AusIMM have members serving on the numerous mining industry related technical committees.
The current participating committee member for MN-005 (Copper, Lead, Zinc and Nickel Ores and Concentrates) will be standing down and the AusIMM are looking for a suitable replacement for the role.
There are approximately 40 standards under MN-005 and it covers:
- Sampling of slurries
- Guidelines for the inspection of mechanical sampling systems
- Experimental methods for checking the precision of sampling
- Precision and bias of mass measurement techniques
- Sample preparation
- Various analytical methods for metals associated with the copper, lead, zinc and nickel concentrates.
