Join the Kalgoorlie Branch to hear from guest speaker Tim Sennett on the topic of “PhotonAssay, a new way to measure gold and related elements, with a focus on the challenges of coarse gold.”

PhotonAssay is a revolutionary new technology based on ground-breaking scientific research at the CSIRO and now commercialised by Chrysos.

The science behind the technology will be reviewed together with the inherent characteristics of the technique which provide several powerful benefits when compared to traditional Fire Assay, particularly when dealing with coarse gold deposits.

PhotonAssay service ex Kalgoorlie will be summarised.

About the Speaker:


Tim Sennett, Business Development Manager – Chrysos

Tim has spent over 30 years in the mining industry, predominantly focused around analytical technologies and their application across geology, mining and processing.

Prior to joining Chrysos he was at CSIRO for almost 3 years working for the Mineral Resources Business Unit.

Tim graduated with a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Adelaide and went laterally into the world of geophysics and petroleum exploration for 5 years before entering the mining industry.

He has lived and worked in Venezuela and Chile and has visited a reasonable fraction of the world’s major mineral provinces.

He also has an MBA from the University of South Australia. Tim is motivated to find integrated solutions to best address customers challenges.
