Digital Tech Talk Overview
In the air that everyone breathes there are nano diesel particles which are bad for you. Underground miners breath air containing 10 – 50 times the number of particles. Some organisations have made significant improvements in cleaning their underground air, while others have made no changes. This talk will look at the improvements and why some organisations have not improved.
Chris Davis has worked in the mining industry for 50 years as a miner, mining engineer, mine manager, managing director and consultant. He sat on the Western Australian Government’s mining industry advisory committee (the committee providing advice to government about health and safety) from 2012 -2018, where he initiated an ongoing investigation programme into nano diesel particles. This has led to the world’s most extensive study of nDP in an underground mine. Chris was on the Board of the AusIMM 2012 – 2015 and 2017 – 2019.
