About the Speaker:

Dr Carmen Letton
PhD in Mineral Economics (UQ) and Degree in Engineering (Mining—WASM)


Dr Letton is a mining engineer and mineral economist (PhD) with 30+ years in the industry, working for major and mid-tier mining houses in senior management and leadership roles. Her experience and expertise lie in asset strategy development, operational excellence and multi-discipline integration across all foundation and enabling functions that drive the execution to plan. Dr Letton has experience in large and medium-sized projects, both open pit and underground, in the Australian and international mining environment. She brings core skills and accountabilities that include operations executive general management and leadership of all key mine engineering disciplines associated technical services areas (mine engineering, metallurgy, and geology, sustainability disciplines).

Currently Dr Letton is the Head, Resource Development Planning and Life of Asset Planning for the Technical and Sustainability Group in Anglo American, based in Australia and she sits on the Board of Directors of Gold Fields as a non-executive director.
