National Ceramic Industries Australia (NCIA) source raw materials from various small mines in NSW and Victoria. After processing in a large grinding mill, spray drying, pressing, glazing, and inkjet printing, the material passes through a continuous gas-fired kiln to produce large ceramic floor tiles.

Extensive use is made of robots and autonomous forklifts for quality control, packaging, transport and warehousing of the finished products.

This plant operates around the clock with computer control systems and extensive automation.
