- Critical Thinking;
- People Management;
- Coordinating with Others;
- Emotional Intelligence;
- Judgement & Decision Making;
- Service Orientation;
- Negotiation; and
- Cognitive Flexibility.
Speechcraft courses are fast track communication courses designed to teach the fundamentals of speaking and leadership. They provide a supportive environment for participants to rapidly build these skills, and aspects of the Top 10 Skills, with repeated practice at two-hour workshops run over six weeks.
Participants will gain confidence in all aspects of communication, including prepared and impromptu speaking, body language, visual aids, active listening and critical evaluation. The program enhances skills in leadership, communication and feedback, and provides critical thinking and problem solving skills to manage workplace and personal situations.
These skills encourage advancement in participants' careers or assist in the transition from technical work to project management or consulting. They are beneficial in personal and community projects, which are common in regional areas.
The course is delivered by a team of experienced leaders from the Bunbury, Donnybrook and Perth Toastmasters Clubs on a voluntary basis. The proceeds of the training will go back into the clubs to improve benefits for their members and their communities. The sessions will run from 7am to 9am every Thursday from 3rd October to 7th Thursday November.
Training will include the preparation and delivery of short speeches, impromptu speaking scenarios, evaluations of others, and other interactive tasks. Professionally prepared materials will be provided, and participants will learn through studying the materials and by practicing the skills taught.
