South West WA Branch – November Tech Talk – The Screw Press: Alternatives for Tailings Dewatering
Registrations are now open to join the Southwest WA Branch on 14 November 2019 to listen to Wilfried Wimmler's technical talk on The Screw Press in Bunbury.
The Screw Press (IFS Mining Robot) is an alternative to tailings dewatering in the mining industry where large dewatering capacities are required at low moisture content. The IFS Mining Robot is a fully automated filter press with many unique features including low operating / maintenance costs, short cycle times and offers an alternative to tailings management

At the age of 21, Wilfried was first exposed to filtration in Europe. For 10 further years Wilfried continues his dewatering experience in various European applications, mostly in domestic and industrial waste applications, as well as in the ceramic industry.
Wilfried graduated as an Engineer (ING) from an engineering specific school in Austria. He migrated to Australia in 1991 and held various roles in the industry, most times self-employed as equipment supplier and contractor to large mining companies such as ANGLO Coal and BHP.
He established a joint venture with Ishigaki Japan. For 12 years Wilfried was managing director of Ishigaki Oceania and represented the unique LASTA FILTER presses in the mining industry. He now operates his own filtration solutions and consulting company serving the industry in Australia, NZ and SE Asia.
Amongst several voluntary positions held, Wilfried is currently also appointed as Honorary Vice Consul for the Republic of Austria in Western Australia.
