Join the Southern Queensland Branch on Wednesday 20 November for a presentation on how Drones are changing the way that we explore for minerals and how we mine and process ores at the Transcontinental Hotel in Brisbane.
This will be a panel presentation by Andrew Lancaster of Insitu (Insitu is a subsidiary of The Boeing Company) and Tim Pettigrew of GHD.
The speakers have direct experience in supplying and operating drone services to the mining industry
Andrew from Insitu will cover:
- The use of high performance Beyond Visual Line of Sight drones to produce frequent and accurate digital twins of mining customers’ assets. This enables more informed decisions to be made faster and more efficiently from anywhere in the world.
Tim from GHD will cover
- Drone equipment used on mine sites
- Software used for survey data to be analysed
- Condition monitoring of equipment, buildings and dams
- Case studies of use on mine sites
About the Speakers:
Andrew is currently the Engineering Manager at Insitu Pacific. In this role he is responsible for shaping and delivering the company’s technology roadmap, which centres on autonomous data acquisition and delivery to enable companies to leverage the digital age. Andrew’s current projects include development of advanced Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) fixed wing systems as well as a range of highly accurate photogrammetry and LiDAR survey payloads for the mining and exploration sector.
Tim’s career in 3D real-time graphic in the Virtual Reality sector extends beyond 13 years. His experience in virtual reality covers high quality architectural visualizations intended for marketing purposes, design visualizations for stakeholder/client engagement and specialized training for clients such as mining, emergency services and rail to name a few.
