In this presentation, we will discuss what mine rehabilitation obligations you may need to consider, including recent developments in this area. During this interactive discussion, you will have the opportunity to hear from Pearl Martin, a Lawyer and Mining Engineer from Gilbert + Tobin, and David O’Brien, a Senior Environmental Scientist with MBS Environmental who will explore practical solutions to mitigate your environmental risks associated with mine rehabilitation.
About the Speakers
Pearl Martin is a lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin Perth in the Energy & Resources team. Pearl is also an experienced Mining Engineer, who graduated from the WA School of Mines Kalgoorlie in 2008. She has worked in underground base metal mines around Australia, including Mount Isa Mines, Gold Fields St Ives and Paddington Gold. She now uses that experience to provide legal advice to the resources industry.
David O’Brien is a Senior Environmental Scientist with MBS Environmental, where for the last 13 years he has helped to provide a broad suit of environmental consulting services to contractors, operators, investors, and lenders in resource and infrastructure projects, including due diligence, risk assessment, approvals, compliance management, systems, monitoring, reporting, liability estimation, and closure planning.
